The Western military industrial intelligence establishment has a long standing relationship with various Islamist extremist groups stemming back over at least half a century.

Prior to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, in 1979, President Carter’s National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski was the key architect of a plan to arm the Afghan Mujaheddin in what would later be known as ‘Operation Cyclone.’

Thus began the modern era of cooperation between the Western powers, predominantly the U.S and the UK, and various Islamist extremist groups that has continued to this day. This important Sky News report from the early 1990’s shows how these Islamist Extremists were used in Europe during the Bosnian war.
